GENERATE/ELIMINATE INFLUENCE

An overview of generating or eliminating influence with thrones.

Players use the CONTRIBUTE page on The New Elites website to generate or eliminate influence points during a war.

  • Players can generate or eliminate influence only after their elite is: a) connected to a throne, and; b) has contributed tokens to the connected throne.

  • Players generate or eliminate influence points when they click a specific action button on the CONTRIBUTE page.

  • A 6h cool down period begins after a player generates or eliminates influence.

  • Cool down periods lock the elite and his contributed tokens to the throne.

    • Players can leave a throne so long as a cool-down is not in effect.

The lowest score for a Dynasty is 0.

Dynasty scores do not go into negative points.

GENERATE INFLUENCE

INFLUENCE POINT SYSTEM

The game favours point generation, balanced with a trial-and-error attack mechanic.

  • Thrones hold a balance of influence points.

    • Thrones are the ledger of points that players have generated.

    • Players generate Influence points when they:

      • connect their elite to a throne,

      • contribute tokens to the throne,

      • then perform the action that generates points.

  • Throne point balances contribute to the Dynasty score.

    • The dynasty with the highest score wins the war.

Example:

  1. Nix Dynasty has a score of 181 influence points.

    1. Nix Throne D has a balance of 11 influence points.

    2. Throne D is ruled by a Warrior - giving Throne D an influence boost of x1.1

      1. Thrones inherit their Ruler's influence boost / Warrior Influence Boost = 110%

  1. A team-mate connects one of their Elites to Throne D as a Patron.

    1. The team-mate contributes 20 tokens to Throne D

  1. The Patron performs the generate influence function to generate points from Throne D.

    1. 22 points are generated from Throne D.

      1. Throne D updated point balance is 33

    2. 22 points are added to the Nix Dynasty

      1. Updated score is 203

Generating too many point from a single throne is risky.

Enemies can optimise their attacks by concentrating on thrones with the most points.

The system encourages active strategic decision making based on the actions of other players, where it is a good idea to spread the generating of points to multiple thrones, as concentrating the point balance to any single throne opens it up as a target.

GENERATE INFLUENCE FORMULA

Thrones use the following formula to generate influence: A*B = INFLUENCE POINTS (GENERATED) A) Contributed Tokens: How many tokens an elite has contributed to the throne. B) Influence Boost: Thrones inherit the influence boost value from its ruler.

GENERATE INFLUENCE EXAMPLE

1. A player connects his elite to a throne as a patron. - The throne's ruler is a warrior and inherits a 110% influence boost. - Each class has a different influence boost value 2. The player's elite contributes 100 $IORO tokens to the throne. 3. The player generates influence with his elite. RESULT: 110 influence points generated for throne's dynasty.

  • A*B = INFLUENCE POINTS

  • 100 * 1.1 = 110

  • 100 (contributed tokens) * 1.1 (110% influence boost) = 110 (influence points)

REMINDER: Thrones receive an influence boost from their ruler. The influence boost adds a 'bonus multiplier' to the amount of points an elite generates.

ELIMINATE INFLUENCE

ATTACK SYSTEM

The game favours point generation, balanced with a trial-and-error attack mechanic.

  • Thrones hold a balance of influence points.

    • Thrones contribute to the sum of points a Dynasty has generated.

  • Players attack enemy thrones, but only the points generated by a throne can be eliminated.

  • The maximum points a player can eliminate by attacking an enemy throne, is equal to balance of points the enemy throne holds.

Example:

  1. Nix Dynasty has a score of 180 influence points.

    1. Nix Throne B has a balance of 20 influence points.

      1. This means someone has connected their Elite to Throne B and generated 20 points.

      2. The Nix Throne B balance adds to the Nix Dynasty score.

  1. A rival player connects one of their Elites to Throne B as an Attacker.

    1. The rival player contributes 30 tokens to Throne B

      1. 1:1 token attack power means 30 tokens = 30 attack points

      2. Note: Throne B only has 20 points on balance

  1. The player performs the attack function to eliminate points from the enemy.

    1. 20 points are eliminated from Throne B, even though the player attacked with 30 points.

      1. Throne B updated point balance is 0

    2. 20 points are eliminated from the Nix Dynasty

      1. Updated score is 160

The attacker can continue to attack Throne B while it has a 0 point balance, however, he will not eliminate any points from the enemy dynasty.

The maximum amount of points a player can eliminate from an enemy dynasty, is limited by how many points the target throne has at the time of attack.

Attacking an enemy throne with a 0 point balance does not eliminate points from the enemy dynasty. To be effective players must find thrones with positive point balances.

Key Mechanics:

  • Inspired by Battleship: Players use attacks vectors to gradually discover how effective their strategies are.

  • Trial and error: Success requires testing different attack strategies to uncover where to allocate their tokens for optimal impact.

This approach ensures point generation remains central, while adding an element of strategy and discovery to attacks.

ELIMINATE INFLUENCE FORMULA

Thrones use the following formula to eliminate influence:

A = ATTACK POINTS (ELIMINATED POINTS) A) Contributed Tokens: How many tokens an elite has contributed to an enemy throne.

ELIMINATE INFLUENCE EXAMPLE

1. A player connects his elite to an enemy throne as an attacker. 2. The player's elite contributes 100 $IORO tokens to the throne. 3. The player eliminates influence with his elite. RESULT: Up to 100 influence points are eliminated from the throne's dynasty. -- Depending on the enemy throne's point balance.

  • A = ATTACK POINTS (ELIMINATED POINTS)

  • 100 = -100

  • 100 (contributed tokens) = -100 (influence points from enemy throne)
